Cotwall End Primary School has a well deserved reputation of being a caring school. We will do our best to make sure that any child's time here is as happy and successful as possible. We value parents' support and trust that with their assistance we can create a rich learning environment which will enable our pupils to flourish and grow from strength to strength.
The school was established as an Infant and Junior School in 1962. In 1981, it was decided to amalgamate the two schools and Cotwall End Primary School now caters for children from 3 to 11 years.
We offer a rich variety of experiences to all our pupils.
An emphasis is placed on the National Curriculum Core Subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and ICT in order to provide our children with the building blocks for life, but we also work hard to provide a strong emphasis on other subjects, especially sports and the arts, to address the needs and interests of the whole child.
The Governors, Headteacher and staff are dedicated to providing the children at this school with a high quality of education delivered in a happy, caring environment. We believe this will also help to develop the children's own individual personalities.
As a large school we need a large number of people to run it. We currently employ 19 teachers, 17 teaching assistants, one Lunchtime Superintendent; Mrs Williams, with her team of supervisors, one School Business Manager; Mr Underhill, the school office team; Mrs Lemm, Mrs Meese and Mrs Talbot, one Site Manager; Mr Waldron, his team of cleaners, and the Unit Catering Manager, Mrs Gwinnett, with the catering team! Mr Davis is our School Crossing Patrol. He covers the school site each day from 8.25am-8.55am and 3.15pm-3.40pm.
We run a very successful After School Club on the school site until 6.00pm each evening during the school term. There is also a Breakfast Club available from 7.40am until the school day starts.
